> Rather than proceeding through a number of topical issues (race, aesthetics, slavery, accommodation, assimilation, nationalism, white supremacy, intersectionality, etc.), providing some historical context and a selection of notable Black writers on each, we will proceed chronologically through the major periods of the Black American experience. As we will see, a diversity of philosophical concerns regarding the Black experience appear in each period, with the perennial topics of Black philosophy developing across time in conjunction with each other. So presented, the topical ideas usually considered in formal isolation are presented as a related set of questions and answers that constitute a developing conversation in response to the experience of Black Americans
