# Interlinked Modular Writing
- Modular notes may be used in a variety of compositions with distinct organizations.
- Interlinked modular notes are organized through semantic links inside to the organized notes themselves. The process of writing becomes a part of the process of organizing knowledge and vice versa.
- Actively considering a note in relation to various possible organizations involves comparing it contentfully with other notes as possible components of larger textual compositions.
- Performing those comparisons involves thinking through the relation between the ideas present in each note. Thinking through the ways an idea relates to other ideas is a primary way of learning about those ideas and producing new knowledge.
- In addition, notetaking software incorporates various ways of automatically suggesting relations between notes, including backlinks, graphs, and mind maps that visualize the connections between a writer's notes.
