# Digital Accessibility
- Finally, it's important that a notetaking software be easy to use with minimal entry costs.
- Most writers are familiar with word processing programs, so the closer a PKM is to emulating those functions, the more accessible it will be.
- That said, accessibility must be balanced against the benefits of more robust notetaking systems, i.e. personalization, automation, databasing, visualization, integration with other programs, etc.
- The ideal is a PKM platform that is easy to begin using but can be modified as the user develops their PKM skills.
